Pastor Gabriel & Teresa Beelen
Directors of Covenant to L.O.V.E. Ministries
Pastor Gabriel G. Beelen is a native of Michigan, born in Grand Rapids Michigan but raised in Holland Michigan. He has worked with in youth ministry leadership, men’s ministries and other outreach programs. In 2012, he made the decision to answer the call to serve in the ministry.
Pastor Gabe served honorably in the United States Armed Forces for about 30 years, with two combat deployments in South West Asia. He currently serves at the Hastings Church of the Nazarene as the Adult Ministries Pastor.
He has been involved in ministry work for over 10 years. He started the Veteran Task Force in 2013, a non-profit that coordinated and trained churches to establish warrior ministries in Michigan. In 2014 he served as the Camp Liberty Chaplain providing spiritual care for the veterans and their families that visited the Camp.
He met his wife Teresa in 2016 and they have been married since 2018, when they moved to live in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Teresa works as a doctor in Optometry at a local business serving the community of Battle Creek. She has been an Optometrist for 28 years, and is native from Puerto Rico. She lives in Michigan since 2014. They are a blended family, with 5 adult children(ages 19 thru 30), and one grand daughter. He has been active with the Church of the Nazarene since 2017, was a member of the Church board as a Trustee, an adult youth leader with his wife Teresa and participated on the Worship team. In 2020, he transferred to Hope Nazarene as the Associate Pastor of Outreach and supporting the worship team. Pastor Gabe is also a Battering Intervention(BIP) Service Provider which is able to support County referrals and also Pastoral care for couples with building Biblical based foundations within the care ministries at Hastings Naz.
Motivated by the call to respond to outreach, Pastor Gabe and Teresa decided to extend supportive care to other couples and that is how their ministry called the Covenant to L.O.V.E. (Living our Vows Everyday) was created. They believe that every relationship should be rooted in love that is faithful and trustworthy, full of the fruit of the Spirit, with God as the center of it all.
Pastor Gabe & Teresa also enjoy music, biking, spending time with their family which includes their three Labrador Retrievers, Tyee, Koko & Lucas. Most of all, they enjoy being part of the family of God and have a strong desire to help marriages at all seasons to overcome the challenges they may come across with. The unity of believers is a priority in their life, so as a mission, they have a heart to strengthen the unity of relationships.
It starts with the man and the woman united as one flesh in which God intended them to be, as a representation of Himself. “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female [Gen. 1:27] and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh’ [Gen. 2:18]”
